Frequently asked Questions

Who is the course for; Anyone who wishes to learn kickboxing either for fun, to help lose body fat, to learn a new skill or to increase confidence.

Do I have to train twice a week; No, you can choose to train only on Tuesday or only on Thursday OR you can do both.

Will I be able to use my bootcamp sessions to do kickboxing; No the course is going to be seperate to your boot camp membership and we will be giving you the opportunity to change your memberships at the end of the kickboxing course if you want to join the kickboxing club.

Is Kickboxing a good way to lose weight or body fat?  The quick answer to this is yes! BUT you need to learn the skills first and this takes a little bit of time. Once you have the skills then you can work them hard and burn that fat!

Will I have to fight people; Part of learning kickboxing is learning how to fight. This is taught through drill work where you are kept safe and are not placed directly in the firing line. We only let people fight when they have built techniques, control and confidence, even then there will be strict rules about what you can and can’t do.

What will happen after the course; After the course we will look to start a kickboxing club. This will enable you to learn kickboxing in a structured manner and grade, (Grading means taking the belts white belt through to black belt and beyond).

Do I need my own equipment; No, just bring yourself and we will do the rest. If you decide to become a member then you will have the option to buy your own equipment.
